Optimized Transformation and Verification of SystemC Methods

چکیده
Concurrent designs can be automatically verified by transforming them into an automata-based representation and by model checking the resulting model. However, when transforming a concurrent design into an automata-based representation, each method has to be translated into a single automaton. This produces a significant overhead for model checking. In this paper, we present an optimization of our previously proposed transformation from SystemC into UPPAAL timed automata. The main idea is that we analyze whether SystemC methods can be executed atomically and then we use the results for generating a reduced automata model. We have implemented the optimized transformation in our SystemC to Timed Automata Transformation Engine (STATE) and demonstrate the effect of our optimization with experimental results from micro benchmarks, a simple producer-consumer example, and from an Anti-Slip Regulation and Anti-lock Braking System (ASR/ABS).

Improving System-Level Verification of SystemC Models with SPIN
SystemC is a de-facto industry standard for developing, modelling, and simulating embedded systems. As embedded systems become more and more integrated into many aspects of human lives (e.g., transportation, surveillance systems, . . . ), failures of embedded systems might cause dangerous hazards to individuals or groups. Guaranteeing safety of such systems makes formal verification crucial. In...

The payback of this advancement resides in the challenge facing SoC desig...
متن کاملInteroperability between two Models of Computation: Co-simulating with SystemC DE and Bluespec ESL
SystemC has grown its user community for system level design space exploration because of its capability of modeling at abstraction levels of RTL and above. However, designers using SystemC must explicitly manage the concurrency, which often contributes to design difficulties. To counter this difficulty, we extended SystemC with Bluespec-SystemC that we call BS-ESL for electronic system level l...
متن کاملOptimized temporal monitors for SystemC
SystemC is a modeling language built as an extension of C++. Its growing popularity and the increasing complexity of designs have motivated research efforts aimed at the verification of SystemC models using assertion-based verification (ABV), where the designer asserts properties that capture the design intent in a formal language such as PSL or SVA. The model then can be verified against the p...
متن کاملOn the Transformation of SystemC to AsmL Using Abstract Interpretation
SystemC is among a group of system level design languages proposed to raise the abstraction level for embedded system design and verification. A straight and sound verification by model checking or theorem proving of SystemC designs is, however, infeasible given the object-oriented nature of this library and the complexity of its simulation environment. We illustrated, in a previous work, the f...
